Local Knowledge collects information under the direction of its Clients. Local Knowledge has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. Local Knowledge works with its Clients to help them provide notice to their customers concerning the purpose for which personal information is collected.

Choice

We collect information for our Clients. If you are a customer of one of our Clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our Clients that use our service, please contact the Client that you interact with directly. If you are a Client and would like to update your account, please contact us.

Service Provider, Sub-Processors/Onward Transfer

Local Knowledge may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy regarding notice and choice and the service agreements with our Clients.

Access to Data Controlled by our Clients

Local Knowledge has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the Local Knowledge Client (the data controller). If the Client requests Local Knowledge to remove the data, Local Knowledge will respond to their Client’s request within 30 business days.

Data Retention

Local Knowledge will retain personal data we process on behalf of our Clients for as long as needed to provide services to our Client. Local Knowledge will retain and use this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Website Collection and Use Practices

Local Knowledge collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, company name, home and/or work address and/or telephone number.

In the event that you contact us for customer support through the website, we may also request that you provide additional User Information relevant to the support requested by you. Users are under no obligation to provide such information. However, we cannot guarantee that we can provide customer support in the event that relevant information related to the use of our products or services is withheld. We may retain communications relating to customer support, and/or information drawn from such communications, for statistical and/or reference purposes.

Social Media (Features) and Widgets

Our website includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, such as the “Share This” button or interactive mini-programs that run on our website. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Local Knowledge collects and uses your personal information to operate the Local Knowledge website and deliver the services you have requested. Tracking Technologies

Log Files

Local Knowledge also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your postal code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites using log files. There is also information about your computer hardware, tablet hardware and software that is automatically collected by Local Knowledge. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, geo-location, actions on the platform and referring website addresses. This information is used by Local Knowledge for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Local Knowledge website and/or other Local Knowledge products and services. For these purposes, we do link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information such as name, email address, address, and phone number.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

We employ [or our third party advertising partners employs] a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) that help us better manage content on our website by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customer’s personally identifiable information.

We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt out of these emails, please see Choice and Opt-out.

Third Party Tracking Technologies

The use of cookies and web beacons by any tracking utility company is not covered by our privacy statement. We do not have access or control over these third party tracking technologies.

    You may unsubscribe from Local Knowledge marketing communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of the company’s emails.

    Local Knowledge’s customers may send emails from our platform with Local Knowledge’s logo to show our tools’ capabilities. However, Local Knowledge does not control the email addresses directly and therefore cannot unsubscribe you from our customers’ emails on your behalf. Please contact the sender of that email which will include proper unsubscribe links if sent via our product.
